BOWEL CLEANSING WITH THE "LEDIN CLYSMATIC"
To many people enemas or colonic irrigation is a strange thing that is only used by quite extreme health conscious minded people. However, this could not be further from the truth, as colonics and enemas are considered normal / commonplace throughout Europe and are acknowledged to be a natural, safe way to support a healthy bowel function and our natural cellular detoxification processes.
The bowel is an area of our bodies we do not often talk about. Many of us do not even know where our bowel / colon is, let alone its important biological functions. The bowel plays a key role in the breakdown of our food, while also playing an important role in the assimilation and absorption of essential nutritional substances. We are often aware of the bowel's responsibility for the effective disposal of residue substances created by the digestion of our food. However, we are not always aware that if our bowel is unable to effectively transport the residues of our digestion through our body, these residues can cause irritation and discomfort. Did you know that the average transit time for our food is about 18-24 hours; however, in many cases this can be much longer.
What can affect the bowel transit time?
It is thought that the bowel transit time can be slowed down by having a diet with too little fibre in it, i.e., a diet of over processed foods, too little liquid intake, or just too little exercise or excess stress. These are all factors that are thought to play a role in the time needed to digest our food. So at a very simple level, we should never rush our meals or eat them on the move, or try and eat while we are feeling stressed. In reality how many of us do?
So, what is the Ledin Clysmatic?
The Ledin Clysmatic regime is a process that was developed by one of Sweden's original naturopaths, Birger Ledin. The Clysmatic is the result of many years documented work in the area of bowel function and offers its users a safe regime that can be carried out in the comfort of their own home in a clean, easy-to-use format. The Clysmatic regime works by gently encouraging natural peristalsis and thus supporting a healthy digestive system in a natural, safe method.
The Clysmatic system is medically approved in Sweden and can be easily fixed to the toilet and bathroom wall in a discreet manner that can be just as simply removed and cleaned away after use. The Clysmatic is a method of colonies that stimulates and strengthens the bowel's natural defecation reflexes that are responsible for the emptying and cleaning of our bowels. This system will not weaken the natural defecation reflexes when used regularly and you should not become reliant on it for normal bowel function. The effect of using the Clysmatic system is not that different from a normal visit to the toilet.
The Clysmatic encourages the bowel to work a little harder than may normally be the case and it is true to say that the Clysmatic in some ways is another method of colonics, but with one major difference: the liquid is not put in the bowel under high pressure as it is only gravity fed, unlike many forms of pressurised colonic irrigation. The Clysmatic focuses mainly on the lower bowel so there are no real concerns over disrupting the all-important natural bowel flora of the gut. The Clysmatic system has been used safely in homes, clinics, hospitals and institutions throughout Sweden for over seventy years and is today regarded as an effective system for clinic or home use throughout Europe and is currently being used by many of the leading health retreats in Europe.
