Dynamic Yoga Retreats

A Dynamic Yoga Retreat at Kaliyoga is designed to revitalize your body and de-stress your mind, allowing you to return home feeling relaxed, energized and positively focused.

Included in the price:
Accommodation, all meals (except Wednesday evening off - see below), all yoga classes, unlimited use of the sauna, hot tub and swimming pool and mountain bikes. 

Optional extras: Spa therapies 
Fun Extras: optional activities and workshops can be arranged (cost will depends on number of participants) e.g. 5-rhythms and Samba reggae dance, hands-on raw food workshop, Bhajan singing, live music, guided mountain hikes, horse riding, trip to the beach.

How to Get Here by Air, Car, Bus

Arrival Day
Group transfer from Malaga airport - (your flight should arrive around 12 noon, or earlier)
Check-in at Kaliyoga from 14:00 (not earlier than this please).
First yoga class: 17.30, followed by aperatif and supper at 19.30.

Departure Day
9:00 guided yoga self-practice
11:00 breakfast
12 noon departure

On Wednesday afternoon there is no yoga class (free time) and no evening meal (chef's night off). Guests usually dine out at a local restaurant. 

What to Bring
a pool towel; cash for therapy sessions (euros); a pocket torch; flip flops/ thongs; some jeans and trainers in case you feel like going horse riding. We provide good quality bed linen, bathroom towels and all yoga equipment. A small boutique sells useful organic items including toothpaste, body care products, olive oil, lavendar soap,

Our yoga classes are founded on the dynamic yoga method and set within the context of Patanjali's classical yoga. Our aim is to guide you towards developing a self-directed practice.
The morning yoga practice is a flow class where movements and postures are connected on the thread of the breath. We start with a period of relaxation and some insights about the practice, followed by a variable sequence of breath-led asana postures.
If you are a beginner, or not very flexible, don't worry about what you can't do - being competitive in yoga will not make you a better yoga student. Physical restrictions will dissolve naturally over time with sensitive practice.
The afternoon yoga sessions are restorative, using postures that gently open the major joints of the body. Guidance in pranayama and sitting meditation is also given.
Enthusiasm and curiosity are recommended, as you will be practicing yoga for 2 hours each morning, and 1.5 hours in the evening.
A Typical Day

As the sun streams through your window you awake to the gentle ringing of Tibetan bells calling you to class. You help yourself to a lemon and ginger tea and make your way down to the yoga studio, taking in the breathtaking mountain views. Then you begin an invigorating yoga session with your fellow guests.

After class, a sumptuous brunch awaits you on the pool terrace where we discuss the options for spa therapy treatments. After brunch there is free time to immerse yourself in the hot tub, or have a sauna, or flop into a hammock, or simply gaze at the mountains and put your mind at rest.

First class spa therapies include full body massage, acupuncture, reflexology, Thai yoga massage, kinesiology, Raynor massage, Quantum therapy, Reiki.

In the evening your body is warm and pliant and a gentle yoga session beckons: an hour and a half of restorative asana practice and guided meditation.

The evening air is warm and sweet and you are ready for supper. Soft music and incense awaits you and a well-earned aperitif is served on the terrace with some vegetarian Spanish tapas. A generous three course supper is served and you have the chance to mingle again with your fellow guests, before rounding the evening off with Moroccan mint tea. When you are ready to retire, the sound of night crickets under a billion stars is sure to induce a night of blissful sleep.

Vegetarian Cuisine
Kaliyoga's vegetarian cuisine is imaginative, healthy and well balanced. Meat eaters are usually astonished by the tasty rich flavours.

Sunday
Arrival time is from 14:00. We respectfully ask you not to be here earlier than this so that we can finish preparing the space for your arrival. The first yoga class is from 17:30- 19.00, followed by supper at 19:30pm.

Breakfast - fresh fruit salad, home made yoghurt, fresh fruit juice or smoothie, nuts, seeds, pollen, infusion teas. Coffee is available on request if you get desperate.

12 to 5pm
Free time & holistic treatments

2pm: Buffet lunch with cooked and raw dishes.

5.30 to 7pm
Restorative Yoga & Meditation (1.5 hours)

7.30pm
sangria aperatif and non-alcoholic juice option, followed by 3-course supper with cooked and raw dishes.

(†) Wednesday afternoon: no yoga class and no evening meal., just free time to spend either at the beach, or go horse riding, or sight-see Granada, or dine out at a recommended local restaurant, or simply rest quietly at the retreat.
