Travel Information
Flights and transfers are not included in the price of your retreat. Please read everything on this page before you book your travel.
Where is Kaliyoga?
Kaliyoga is located in southern Spain in the Alpujarra region of Andalucia, between the spa town of Lanjaron and the market town of Orgiva. The nearest airports by car are Malaga (1.5 hours) and Granada (1 hour). We offer transfers from both airports, though Malaga is the most popular. We can also arrange transfers by car from train stations at Malaga and Granada. Public bus service is good and we will gladly meet your bus at the local stop near Orgiva (See 'Public Bus Routes' opposite).
Arrival & Departure
Arrival Day
In order to qualify for Kaliyoga's low cost group transfer scheme your flight should ideally arrive no later than 14:30, giving you time to get to the Meeting Point outside terminal 3 (see photo opposite). Group Transfers are available strictly between 10:00 and 15:00. If you can not get to the meeting point in time to join the Group Transfer, we can still arrange a car to meet your flight- see 'Cost: Non-Group Transfer' (see middle column)
Departure Day
The retreat ends at 12:00 (noon) and the group transfer will leave Kaliyoga shortly after, so you will arrive at Malaga airport by 2pm. When booking your flights you should allow 2 hours for the journey time plus 2 hours to check-in. Your ideal flight time is 4pm or later. If your flight is very late the driver can drop you in Malaga. You can get to the airport in 15 min by cab, train or bus.
Amendments / Cancellations
Cancellations and amendments must be advised by telephone 24 hours in advance so that we can inform the driver, otherwise you will be charged full fare (see tarifs below). The number to call will be given in your confirmation email (Spanish mobile number).
Delayed? Missed a Flight?
If you miss your flight or are likely to be delayed by more than half an hour, you must contact the driver directly by phone (the phone number will be emailed to you) otherwise you may be charged full price. See "Standard Transfer Costs" opposite.
Local Area Information
Public Bus Routes
OPTION A
One direct bus a day (except Sundays). Leaves Malaga bus station at 15.00 and follows te coast road via Motril, then continues inland to Orgiva. If your flight arrives in the morning up to about 1pm this is the best option to choose. (Not Sundays)
There is also one direct bus a day (not Sundays) from Orgiva at 8.15am to return you to Malaga.
OPTION B
There are buses every day of the week from Malaga bus station to Granada bus station where you can then catch a bus to Orgiva. There are several every day.
If you inform us about your bus arrival time we will send someone to meet you at the Las Barreras bus stop which is near Orgiva. Email your bus details to: travel@kaliyoga.com

Local B&B Accommodation
If you need somewhere local to stay before or after your retreat, we recommend a local guest house called Casa El Jazmin which is located in our local town Orgiva. It is run by a couple of friendly Spanish ladies who always take good care of our guests.
If you would like to be dropped off at Casa Jazmin on Saturday, or be collected on Sunday, please let us know when you book.

DEPARTURE DAY The Group Transfer will leave Kaliyoga at 12 noon and you will arrive at Malaga airport by 2pm. If your flight departure time is quite late you might prefer to go to the beach which is only 10 mins by taxi from the airport, rather than spend hours waiting in the airport. |

If you arrive too late or too early to join one of our Group Transfer vehicles, we can usually arrange a car to meet your flight (pls give 24 hours notice!). THE BLUE MEETING POINT
Outside Terminal 3 there is a blue metal column (see photo above). Please wait there for your driver.
There are 2 price bands: 'Group' and 'Standard' (see below). To book a transfer please send an email to travel@kaliyoga.com with your flight details and mobile phone number.
Our transfers are operated by friendly, self-employed locals who know the area and provide a personal service in English/Spanish. This service is offered because there is no taxi company in our local town and our drivers know exactly where to go, saving you time and money.
