DIRECTIONS from MALAGA

Directions from Malaga airport following the Mediterranean coast

On leaving the airport follow signs for Malaga and then signs for SEVILLA, CORDOBA, GRANADA, ALMERIA and MOTRIL (A7). After about 10kms the motorway splits into two motorways, it is important that you now keep to the left on the A7 in the direction of ALMERIA and MOTRIL and that you don’t follow signs for Cordoba, Sevilla and Granada. You are on the Autovia del Meditaraneo driving east along the side of the sea.

The motorway runs out shortly after the ‘La Herradura and Almunecar’ turn off, and the slip road rejoins with the coast road for about 10kms. After  the Salobrena turn off, take the direction for GRANADA and JAEN and rejoin the motorway (A44 autovia de Sierra Nevada). You are now driving north and inland.

Continue on this motorway until junction "175km" (about 20kms from the coast), and turn off in the direction of ORGIVA and Las Alpujarras. The slip road brings you down hill to the large dam and roundabout where you turn right towards ORGIVA. Keep going until you go through a tunnel, then turn left  over the River Guadalfeo towards ORGIVA. Continue through ORGIVA town. Bear left at the traffic lights before the church, (signs are for A348 LANJARON & TREVELEZ).

As you leave ORGIVA you will pass a small BP filling station near the bridge, then carry straight on and after 0.5km there is a larger BP filling station on the right.

Continue for about 1km and you will see 'Camping Puerta de la Alpujarra' campsite on your left with red pyramid shaped roofs. See photo 1
Photo 2 carry on about 400m - there is a short section of straight road followed by a sharp right hand bend (see photo 2 & 3)... Slow down at the chevron...

Now choose the track that runs between the glass-fronted bus stop and the sign for Olive Mill (photo 4). Don't be tempted to choose the other track near the hedge, it leads nowhere.

Onwards to Kaliyoga...
Having turned off the main road, drive along the track slowly (it's a bit bumpy). You will pass a white farm building on the right (photo 8) and then at the bottom of the hill is a building called "Fabricolat de Queso de las Alpujarras" (photo 9). Follow the road to the left... past a round water container on the right side. Continue straight on for about 600 metres. Keep going straight, you're nearly there... Don't take any turnings to the right... Kaliyoga is a few metres beyond 'Cortijo de Compostela'.
